Helene Schjerbeck’s home

The plaque commemorates the house where Schjerbeck lived. The house has now been demolished.

Helene Schjerfbeck, the famous painter, lived at this location between 1925 and 1939. The house she lived in is gone, but the wall of the apartment block here bears a plaque. Helene Schjerfbeck also lived a short time in Bastugatan, near the fish market, in a house which is still standing.
