Seagulls

Commemorating the co-operation between Ekenäs and Ystad during the II World War.

Gunnar Elfgren made this statue representing two seagulls in 1963 to commemorate the co-operation between Ekenäs and Ystad (Ekenä’s twin town in Sweden) during the Second World War. There is a similar statue in Ystad. The birds in the Ekenäs statue point towards Ystad and the birds in the Ystad statue point towards Ekenäs.
